Hays V. Hettinger

Mr. Hettinger joined the firm in 2009. He specializes in federal aviation law, having spent 33 years as counsel with the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring as Assistant Chief Counsel at Headquarters. While with the FAA, he was Special Counsel for the Rotorcraft Directorate at Fort Worth, and for the Transport Category Airplane Directorate at Seattle. He has co-authored three law review articles for the SMU Journal of Air Law and Commerce, and serves as the Vice-President for the Southwest Region of the National Transportation Safety Board Bar Association in Washington. He has a JD from Baylor University School of Law and spent a Summer LLM Study Program at Georgetown University Law Center.
